Pick?n Post - Protein Identification

N-TERMINAL SEQUENCING

This service is based on the N-terminal Edman sequencing procedure. Classic Edman degradation chemistry remains the gold standard technique for N-terminal amino acid sequencing.

The analysis is applied to protein/peptide delivered in-solution or bound to a PVDF-membrane. Typically 6-20 residues can be determined by this process.

We provide
Automated Edman sequencing of the protein or peptide sample. Edman degradation is a cyclic procedure where the PITC reagent is coupled to the N-terminal amino group and cleaved off the protein. The PITC coupled residue is transferred to a flask, converted to a PTH-residue and the amino acid identified by HPLC chromatography. The reaction cycle is repeated and a sequence of N-terminal amino acids is determined.

You receive
You receive a detailed and easy to understand report (request sample report) in PDF format by e-mail containing:

  • HPLC chromatograms
  • Amino acid sequence after interpretation of the data.
